A5 postcard from Serious Business Women’s “Why You Do That” 2026 exhibition
Acrylic paint, acrylic paint markers and spray paint on wood and convex mirror
Inspired by the Buddhist Wheel of Life, this work reimagines Yama, the lord of death, who holds the cycle of existence. At its centre, a convex mirror draws the viewer into the wheel itself, replacing distant realms of rebirth with their own reflection. What appears is not deity or demon, but the self.
In this moment, the wheel is no longer somewhere else. It is here, in our habits, attachments, desires, and fears. The work poses a simple question: can we recognise the cycle while still inside it?
